I absolutely adore it, the poetry is both soul destroying and affirming. Not entirely new and different though, Magic had many of the same messages and meanings but this is a complete short story album, one that reignites that art form.


Hi. I have come across your blog when I was looking up a line from a song by Martyn Joseph and the wonders of the web brought up a blog by you on "Whoever it was...."

And looking through a few other writings, I came across this one. I watched the film on a flight back from five months volunteering in South Africa and loved it. The songs for a start but the commentary between them really opened them up. So many great insights into the man, his honesty, his integrity, his willingness to acknowledge his mistakes.

And here's the funny thing. Martyn Joseph is a great fan of the Boss, sings a few of his songs, did a full album of Bruce covers.... Everything belongs...
