There seems to be a resurgance of the so called Big Music at the moment. Simple Minds, Big Country with Mike Peters of the Alarm on vocals and Cactus World News play a festival in Ireland. Echo and the Bunnymen headline Latitude. U2 go back to playing some old tunes for the 360 tour and Glastonbury. The Waterboys have a new album coming out. Been digging out some old stuff from those days. It was big music. Music made for stadiums before bands regularly played stadiums. It was very spiritual in feel, uplifting yet dark around the edges. It seemed to disappear as quick as it came. Or did it. The stadiums beckoned. Do you remember any of the unsung bands of the scene; The Adventures, Icicle Works, In Tua Nua? Any others? Who carries the sound and crown of the newer bands? Great days indeed.
