I am so looking forward to Family Week this year. Not sure if I'll be able to hit the high notes of 'O Holy Night' but I'll give it my best. Thanks for the preamble to our week.

Make sure you give the worship leaders a copy of Andrew Peterson's version of "While Shepherds Watched" to listen to in advance, Steve. (If not the whole "Behold The Lamb of God" album!)

We did it at the evening Christmas Service at Fisherwick a couple of years back, and it worked really well - we taught the "Hallelujah"s to the congregation at the start of the service, so they joined in at that part of the song. It captures your attention to the significance of the words so much better than the banal tune it normally gets sung to! (In the UK anyway. I wonder how Mr Nahum Tate felt about his inspiring words getting sung to a hymn tune not that dissimilar to "I'm A Little Teapot"...)

Term Papers

Appreciated post , I agreed with you, It is of course the hope that talking about concepts, usually trapped in the cold short days of December, at a time of the year that should be more pleasant and warm that it might awaken souls to this story anew.
